Starting to Cleanup My Own Mess

At the start of the year, I hacked together a small spreadsheet that did many things that a spreadsheet is not meant to do. It was meant as a proof of concept however is started adding more and more to it. I had a few goes at tidying up the macros and formulas to make it a bit less inefficient and more reliable, but as time has gone on, I am more and more convinced that I would be better rebuilding the application using mostly HTML and JavaScript.

I will still have an excel spreadsheet at the heart of it, there is no getting away from that, but hopefully excel will be kept to its strengths.

This afternoon I finished the jobs I was planning to do today, so I decided to make a start at the rebuild. It was an amazingly good feeling to feel like I was making progress to fix my previous work. Though I have a long way to go.
