This morning, the weather was brilliant. I took a quick trip into Edinburgh to pick up my bike from the bike shop after its service. This involved a nice walk on my own through the woods, a quiet train ride into Edinburgh, a leisurely stroll through the streets of edinburgh and I had enough time to enjoy a coffee and sweet treat beside the canal while I waited for the shop to open. The cycle back was also very plenent, if a little faster paced. The bike was nicely tuned up and rode nicely through the streets of Edinburgh and the woods of Polmont. All in all a lovely morning on my own.
I came back and switched to daddy day care mode. Denise got the youngest one down for a nap before heading out to meet up with friends. I was looking after the kids on my own for the afternoon as the rain started. We survived without any injuries. It wasn’t the most fun filled afternoon the boys have had, but sometimes it is good to force them to play with what they already have and use their imaginations rather than going on another adventure.
Thinking back on it now, I am having trouble reminding myself that both the morning and the afternoon were part of the same day. They were so different in virtually every way, it was like two completely separate days mixed into one.
