I had to describe the details of a project that I have been working on for the last year. It is quite a large project that touches on lots of different systems. I needed to explain all the systems that are affected in the clearest way possible.
I spent a while trying to squash the different parts into a diagram, avoiding as many overlapping lines or unnecessary parts. Include too much and the diagram is too busy and difficult to read. Miss out too many items and the diagram is clear but doesn't match reality and would cause more problems than it helps.
I think I did a decent enough job, although it is still busier than I would have liked. Perhaps that standard grade class on graphic communication wasn't completely wasted.
