Question from the one of the kids:

What is a channel?

We were discussing putting on cbeebies radio.

Mum (to me) Could you line up BBC sounds

Kid But I want to listen to cbeebies radio

Mum it's ok, cbeebies radio is a channel on BBC sounds

Kid what is a channel?

It was at this point we noticed that we were struggling. How do you explain to a young child what channels are when you don't watch any live TV. With the exception of cbeebies radio, we don't even listen to any live radio. Everything is on demand.

We did our best but I am not convinced he understood.
