Changing the Plan

As eluded to yesterday, I had planned to get back to commuting by bike. On the days that the kids are in nursery, this means cycling across town to pick them up before heading home.

Yesterday was going to be the first time I did this after the accident. Unfortunately the weather last night was horrible. My feet were soaked by the time I got to the gatehouse. The wind was strong and made cycling difficult.

I decided that the plan was stupid. It was not a good idea to cycle in that weather any longer than necessary. I went straight home and swapped my bike for the car before picking the kids up.

The plan was a good one until things change. There are many other occasions when this happens. We need to spot these occasions and be open to the idea of changing the plan.
